Some may have noticed my disappearance from service and tribe events for the past one month. (ok, I know many of you didn’t). So, where was I? I went on a mission trip to East Asia, reaching out to university students in one of the cities. Now that I’m back, I’m excited to share some thoughts with the family!Â
One of the biggest lessons that I’ve learnt through this trip are the importance of praying. Prayer is not a preparation to work, prayer is work. It is so easy to just go about doing ministry on my strength. But God taught me that I need to pray to move the spiritual realm as well. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms†(Ephesians 6:12). I’ve learnt to be more prayerful, committing the day’s events to God. Now that I am back in Singapore, I pray that I will continue to be prayerful, committing each day to the Lord and allowing Him to take charge.
Through interacting with the students in the university, I had a better understanding of their thinking. Most of those whom I shared with do not believe that God exists. Reason being, they were taught this way since young. Education tells them that God doesn’t exist, and trust in what you can see, not what that is unseen. Though I already knew about the atheistic environment in East Asia, there was much more impact in hearing it personally from the students’ mouths. It saddens my heart that education is depriving the Chinese of the Truth. Yet there is nothing we can do to change the education system, except to share the Truth with them, and to be praying for them.Â
This campus is definitely a hard ground. But it is also such hard grounds that require a lot of prayers and more labourers sent to spread the gospel. I thank God for the privilege to be one of the labourers who had worked in this land. May the Lord stir up in you the heart to serve the nations and help in fulfilling the Great Commission as well!Â

I was born in a buddhist family and was greatly influenced by their beliefs. I often joined my grandparents to the temple. At that point of time, i did not know what a religion was, so I simply followed what my grandparents did and prayed like they did.
When I was about five, my aunt and uncle from the paternal side accepted the Lord and started to reach out to the family. By God’s grace, my grandmother, my parents and some relatives accepted the Lord too. Every sunday morning, my brother and I would attended Sunday school and I enjoyed myself making friends and singinf songs to the Lord. When I was older, I started attending the adult service with my father, aunt and uncle. I grew in the Lord tremendously during that period.
When i turned twelve, i drifted away from God as i wanted to focus on my studies. My spiritual growth became stagnated, if not backslided. Though in the following year, I attended the adult service at TCT more often than before, I was always not in the mood and found Services boring and a waste of time.
But praise the Lord for His grace and mercy! Last year, I received a call from Clarissa, my fellow cellmate and was invited to join them at the youth service. I rejected her many times as i was always busy on saturdays due to external guitar lessons. God’s ways are indeed higher than man’s ways! He created many opportunities for me to come back to Him. On 17th December 2005, my aunt brought my cousins and I to a Christmas party organised by the members of RLL cluster.
It was an enjoyable party and many people took the initiative to talk to me and made me feel welcomed. These friendly people are right now my fellow tribemates under Evelyn Lee. The next day, I was invited again to attend the youth service at Expo. Praise the Lord! I rededicated my life to Christ and my life has never been the same!
Today, as i walk down memory lane, I have never regretted accepting Christ as my Lord and Saviour. God has extended His love and protection to me in so many ways. I thank God that now i’m part of this big family! I want to bring God’s word into my family and prayerfully hope that all my family members and friend will come to know the Lord. Really thank God for bringing me back to His kingdom. Praise God!

my salvation comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”

One of our biggest and highly anticipated event of the year was finally here, the Miracle Catch, the day where many more souls could be, would be and were saved! The night before the event, I received a call from Pastor Seng Lee and he requested me to give my testimony at the Miracle Catch. The first thought that came into my head was “Why me???†The thought of sharing my testimony in front of the large hall filled with hundreds of people was nerve-racking but after some thought I started to get excited that God would actually use me, a small fry in this big event.
So on the 25th June, armed with the Holy Spirit, I told the world about Him. Besides blessing me with the privilege to serve Him on the big day, God also blessed my friend/ colleague who was born a Thai-Buddhist to respond to the altar call! My friend told me that though she was born a Thai-Buddhist, she believed in Jesus but she couldn’t find a church where she was comfortable enough to settle in. However she felt comfortable in our church and she could really feel our love for God. GOOD WORK FCBC-ians! Isn’t it amazing to know that our love for God was so strong that it could actually touched the heart of a pre-believer?? So never underestimate your love for God for it does things greater than you can ever imagine. The Miracle Catch ended with a big bang with the salvation of 545 souls. Though the Miracle Catch was over, the prayer warfare for the salvation of many other souls out there has not ended. Let us pray even more fervently for the unsaved souls and by our faith, turn each weekend into a Miracle Weekend!

Same venue… Same timeslot… Usual Message Series… Yet, God did a miracle!!! Why? Because… Ordinary people like you and I choose to walk by faith and not by sight…
Over the last weekend, 545 souls were ushered into the Kingdom of God… (we had 384 salvations over 4 shows in the MOL last Dec) This is indeed a miraclous harvest to rejorce in!!! God is truly a God of Miracles when we believe…
However… Thou the miracle catch may be over… This is just the beginning… Beginning of an enlarge faith to trust God for the impossible… to see the “C” and “D” sectors conquered with new spiritual babies…Â
How much are you willing to pay? Are you ready to P.U.S.H? Pray until something happen? Knowing that the spiritual warfare is real… (During this miracle catch, our tribe witnesses the reality of spiritual warfare when some of our friends and members were suddenly met with motor accident and down with sicknesses such as chicken pox…)
So, let us continue to pray, fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God and invite friends till we see the “C” and “D” sectors conquered!!!

Have you been developing your character? Or are you chasing after gifts and talents that seem pleasing?
God is concern with our character rather then our gifts and talents, because our character will reveal who Christ is in our lives. Gifts and talents come from God. We do nothing to earn or deserve these. Our gifts may open some doors and opportunities but it is our character that will take us to and keep us in our destiny. No one is born either naturally or supernaturally with character. It must be developed. We need to develop our character.
Character is defined as ‘the quality of someone and moral strength of someone’. Ps Julie once said “Character is what you do when no one is looking”. And that defines the real you. Throughout the bible, God looks at the heart and character of men. He chooses man and woman with character and not gifts. Have you been chasing gifts and forgoing the opportunity to develop your character at this point of your life?
Oswald Chamber wrote “Drudgery (hard boring work) is the test of genuine character.” Have you been subjected to drudgery in your daily life and spiritual life that you wanted to simply give up and wanting to move on to something “more interesting” but rather to stay put and see what the Lord what you to learn and developed in your character? God is using these times of daily routine to prepare us for the times of great inspiration by Him.
Don’t always expect God to give you thrilling moments, but learn to live in those common times of drudgery of life by the power of God. Let us choose character over gifts, talents and thrilling moments so that we can be available when God calls. When He calls, He will also provide.

RL288 met at Daniel Hall for a prayer meeting for the Miracle Catch on 21st June, the Wednesday just before the Miracle Catch Service. MC being part of the RL288 (-_-) made his way to Daniel Hall after a long day at work. As MC entered Daniel Hall, MC stepped into a room thundering with the sound of praying saints. (this part would give away that MC was just a bit late…) the room was filled with people… some on their knees… some with teary eyes… All were crying out for the salvation of their friends and loved ones. Looking around, MC spotted very common people and familiar faces, some whom MC have known for the longest time. However, these common people are united by an uncommonly great calling and purpose and they give their lives to stand in the gap for those who are still lost out there. Some of these lost people are merely acquaintance but whose lives are bound for destination Hell less the children of God decides to take their stand and wage war in the spiritual realm for these lives. MC is touched by the mere participation and standing in line with youths such as these.
Â
Â
Indeed, a gathering of great men and women of God in their younger days. Is the very next Billy Graham going to come from this uncommonly ‘free’ people, who has nothing better to do than to come and be used by God on just another Wednesday evening. It was then that God reminded MC that He is able to use very common people to do miracles. The smartest and most powerful people in the world cannot do anything to save a person’s soul when compared with the anonymous young people who obediently bear the burden of salvation of the lost in their prayers and their tears. Pastor Roland gave instruction for the 288 to stretch out their hands to the side like how Jesus’ hands were stretched out on the Cross of Calvary for the sinners of the world. In doing that gesture Pastor Roland asked the 288 to ask God to give them a heart of compassion that would allow them to feel for the lost like how Jesus would feel.
Indeed, this people seek the heart of Jesus and puts what God has in His heart as the core focus of this gathering. By this, MC sense in his spirit that God is pleased with such a gathering. May those who are lost always be in the hearts of these people so that these people would always carry the heart of Jesus wherever they go. (-_-) And by these hearts and lives, may God be blessed and His name be glorified forever. Amen.
Till next time… bye… (-_-)

DEAR PRECIOUS,
I’m SAFE at Phnom Penh!!! the food here is huge portion…cheap… and got chauffeured ard by Embassy Chauffer…
I gonna run but pls pray for me on my accomodation…
Prayer Request:
The hotel we’re staying is considerably
quite old, no windows and no security over our belongings. But thx God that there is still a locker @ the hotel lobby to keep our passport. We found that US $300 ($500) can only get a backpacker hotel or a Guesthouse (walk-up 4th sty high) in PP as the electricity is very expensive. These accomodation are simple, similiar to Golden Gate. The charges for a proper hotel stay where there is proper security & hotel services cost at least US $500. .
PRAY TT MY REQUEST TO INCREASE THE ACCOMODATION BUDGET WILL BE APPROVE BY MY HIGHER BOSS & MGM..
From Sharon (Cynthia’s Tribe)
Note: Sharon will be staying in a hotel for 4days; 26th June – 30 June…. Pray for her safety…. Also pray that she will be able to find a suitable & affortable apartment to stay.

On 26th June 2006, RLL Cluster’s first missionary – Sharon (From Cynthia’s tribe) was being sent out to Cambodia in respond to FCBC’s call to SERVE THE NATIONS.
Arriving at Changi Airport T2 at 6:30 am with my eyes barely opened, I witnessed God’s faithfulness in Sharon’s life and His plan for her being unweaved right before my eyes…
About 2 years ago, Sharon got a job with an estate management company who wanted to sent her over to Phnom Penh (Capital City of Cambodia) to manage the Singapore Embassy. This was the job that Sharon have been dreaming of as God has given her a big heart for the nations having served the Temasek Polytechnic International Students for many years. However, Cambodia was not the nation she had in mind back then… But in the midst of uncertainties, she took up the job as an act of obedience towards God after much prayer and affirmation from God.
While waiting for the Singapore Embassy to be built, she worked under the company to manage Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s apartments in Singapore. During this time, God continue to work in her life affirming her call to Cambodia. Finally, on 26th June 2006, Sharon was sent off to Cambodia to work for two years.
As I sent her (my playmate… my precious sister…) off, I was reminded of her faithfulness in serving God in Singapore among the international students. As she is faithful with the little, God has indeed entrusted her with more. Let us continue to keep her in prayers as she worked in Cambodia!!!

The SP Primers had their yearly overnight cycling on Wed 21 June. It was with much excitement that we look forward to it because the Lord has blessed us with more than double the number of signups as compared to last year! A total of 105 people took part in this event. All the officers plus the primers were looking forward to a time of connecting with the year 1s.    Â
There were 8 groups averaging 12 people each. Pastor Roland flagged them off and they set off at 15mins intervals from ECP. The route would take them along ECP all the way to the SAFRA resort before they take the long long road right next to the airport runway. It would be followed by a visit through Changi Village and a short visit to the Old Changi Hospital. Supper point was at Changi Beach before they head back. The 1st part of the journey had 2 rest-cum-games point. It was designed like that to make it less monotoneous. The way back on the other hand would not have any rest stops. It was so that they would learn how to encourage each other along the way and to foster a sense of esprite de corp. We also played an interesting game on the way back which involves teamwork. As the group cycled in a line, the last rider will overtake to the front and this keeps going on. It was to push each other to the limit and at the same time teach them teamwork by encouraging each other on.
It was also an event of faith. When we were just starting the cycling, it started to drizzle. Kenny and I (not synchronised and only found out later) prayed for God to hold back the rain till we finished. And God really answered! It stopped! The amazing thing was that at the end of the cycling when we were all back at the tentage, we ended the whole event saying the BB Vesper. And right at the end of it, which ends with ‘Amen”. it started to rain! Wow! God was really holding back the rain for us! “if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.” It was really demonstarted by this. It was a fun filled event where we really connected with the year 1s… some even came for the Miracle Service! So let’s pray that the Lord will continue to draw them close!
