Watching MOL for the second time…

The Magic of Love @ Christmas is an annual performance staged by our senior pastor and his team. More than just illusions, magic and elaborate costumes, the Magic of Love is a moving tale of the powerful love shared between a father and his daughter. It was evident by the response from the audience that the touching story had captivated their hearts, and praise God that many people gave their lives to Jesus for the first time!

Despite it being my second time watching the Magic of Love, I was still left amazed and in awe at the end of the performance. I was amazed not purely because of the wonderful magic and mysterious illusions; instead, what left me in awe was the reminder of the greatest gift that our Heavenly Father has graced us with- His son Jesus Christ who died for our sins. It served as a reminder to me that the finest gift I can give to my loved ones this Christmas is not the most expensive phone or Ipod, and is not something that money can buy. The greatest gift that we all can afford to give to our loved ones is to share of God’s love with them this Christmas.

As Christmas is a time of blessing, giving and loving, let us love our friends and family with God’s love, allowing them to truly feel the warmth and love of our Heavenly Father. =)

Going as an intercessor…

MOL this year was a little different for me this year. It was the first time I went as an intercessor. Although Xiangru had briefed us before going into the intercessor room, I was a little unprepared in my heart and did not know what I was in for. When I entered the room to join the intercessors, I asked God to prepare my heart because a spiritual warrior cannot enter battle without the armour of God. As the praying and worshipping started, I could feel the strong anointing and presence of God in the place. God started to unravel his works through MOL before my eyes. Initially, MOL was really just MOL to me, bringing friends to Christ etc. However, at that moment of interceding, I could really sense God’s powerful right hand moving strongly through the whole hall and the raised spiritual climate in me. While praying half-way, I started to feel tired but God was good, he gave me a fresh anointing and even passion for the pre-believers sitting right in the hall. God even gave me a vision. It was picture of a guy sitting in the audience that Saturday night. Somehow, God was telling me his story and I started praying for him. We were to also pray for Priscilla’s testimony that it would touch the lives out there. While doing just that, I myself was deeply moved by her story and God’s great move in her life. Maybe at that crucial point of her life, all seemed bad but it turned out to be for the bigger picture of God’s work. The intercession night soon came to a full stop but I know God’s work has just really started. Even though I felt really worn out spiritually at the end, but it was a great experience just doing His work and seeing the Holy Spirirt move powerfully in the MOL.

Magic of Love (MOL) had created a great impact on me. It was not just magic, but also a lesson we can learn about love through a touching story of a father and his love for his daughter.

Before it started, I thought it’s just going to be like a normal magic show that we usually watch. However, it was not what I expected, but much better. Pastor Khong actually related magic to Christianity, which was truly unforeseen.

This year, there were more illusions, which brought the show to greater heights. MOL was indeed filled with much more excitement and also appalling scenes such as the Table of Death, etc. Other jaw dropping scenes were the quick person switches of characters within split seconds and when Pastor Khong suddenly appeared in the crowd in the grand finale. There were also other tricks, which brought excitement to us such as the making of ‘snow’ and changing of the colours of the handkerchief.
However, other than the magic tricks, the story plays a big part in MOL too. It portrays the love between the father and daughter. I found it touching and meaningful and made me treasure the relationship with my family and God even more. Sometimes, when we are stubborn, our pride overcomes our love and faith for God and we draw away from God, just like the character, Priscilla in the story, who wanted freedom and fame. Yet, God’s love for His people is still never changing. He forgives us when we sin, just like how the father forgave and rescued his daughter.

Towards the end of MOL, Pastor Khong also used the balls to talk about sin and the separation from God, which I thought was a creative way to illustrate. I was also deeply moved when Priscilla shared about her life and was impressed by how God blessed Pastor Khong and his family.

Overall, I felt that Magic of Love was great! I’m glad that my friends were touched by the story too. I’m also happy for those who accepted Christ in this MOL. I hope that God will continue to use Pastor Khong and Priscilla to touch lives around the world and spread God’s words; bringing the lost people towards the path of being warriors of light!

I went in with a heart flooded with sins and doubts. But I knew what I was there for. I was further prepared with the affirmation of God’s presence. On the first night when we were given our “sin list”, I felt my heart just starting to feel really uneasy. Especially when Lionel was going through it, some of which reflected on me. It was then I realised there REALLY is a demon inside of me and it has been blinding me from the words of God. Before God released me of this torment, He let me know just how much He cares and loves me and that He will set me free and a new beginning of a fresh new life would be rewarded to me. Trusting Him to do so, I told myself to be honest while doing the “sin list”. Every sin I ticked, I prayed that the Lord would forgive me and that all my burdens are left at the cross for Him to carry on my behalf. What touched me most was on the second day, where we were invited forward to give the leaders(symbolizing our Spiritual Father) a great big, and long hug. Haha, tears just came down natually and uncontrollably. Later that night as I nailed the paper heart to the cross and burnt my “sin list”, at that very time, the decision to have my life surrendered and left in the hands of God was made. Ever since then, things in life only got better than ever before. Not just for me, but for my family as well. Dad started working in a better company, mom earned much from all the tour-leading.Praise The Lord! HALLELUJAH!Posted by: Bjorn Liu (Lionel’s Tribe)

I injured my shoulder during my school’s camp and had to be rushed to the hospital. The doctor diagnosed that I had sprained my shoulder and injured one of the nerves, thus causing my palm to swell up and become numb. The doctors could not do much except to prescribe some painkillers and send me home with my hand immobile in a sling. Having an arm in a sling was a great inconvenience; I was kind of ‘handicapped’. Things that seemed so simple like taking a shower, took me a whole hour to complete. But that did not deter me from going shopping, albeit the many stares, with my friends. However upon going to church that Sunday, I was surprised to realize that the message for that day was “A God who Heals”. God really works in the most unexpected ways.

When pastor Lawrence gave the altar call, I responded with 3 other friends and prayed for each other. As my friends, Yuan Bing and Estee, prayed for me, I felt an immense pain on my shoulder as if there was a huge hand clamming down on my shoulder and pushing hard. When I shared with them about the pain I had experienced, they thought that they had accidentally pressed too hard. Later as my cell leader, Samantha and Gloria, prayed for me, there was a hot sensation pulsing up and down my shoulder. Samantha led me to proclaim God’s word that I would receive His healing. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect God to perform a miracle on me that day.

Afterwards, during worship, I could lift my hands up to clap along. I was so amazed, that when I prodded and punched my own arm a few times, to find that the pain was really gone. “Oh my gosh, its not pain anymore” was my exact words to Gloria as I realized that my arm was healed. I was bewildered and as my cellmates were overjoyed and started clapping and hooting, I guess I have not grasped the reality of what had happened and I just looked on blankly. Although I did not fully understand and believe, the Lord still did a work in me. By His grace, I’m HEALED! Praise the Lord!! :D

26th Nov 2006 marks the official date for the handover of Danny and Evelyn to be under the EJ24 by Pastor Eugene and Pastor Julie.

In the midst of tears and joy, Pastor Roland and Pastor Laifun together with the RL24 stood together with Danny and Evelyn and their tribe in prayers, support and encouragement as Pastor Eugene and Pastor Julie pray to receive Danny and Evelyn under the EJ24.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Though it was a simple event held after youth service at Omega room 4,  there was full of thanksgivings as it is God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
Indeed, Danny and Evelyn have been a blessing to the cluster… They and their tribes have never failed to pray for their leaders during every mealtime… They have never stop blessing the rest of the family in prayers and encouragement… God has seen their faithfulness and has indeed entrusted them with greater things.. God has indeed called them to be a greater blessing not only to the RLL cluster but also to Pastor Eugene and Pastor Julie and even the whole of Youthnet…
As I sat there witnessing the handover of Danny and Evelyn to be under the EJ24, I know God is really pleased…Though, Danny and Evelyn are no longer in the RL24, we are still one family. We are still the body of Christ and each one of us is a part of it…
19th Nov 2006 marks a very special and unique day for many of us in the family. Firstly, it marked the official handing over of Ps Victor and Ps Kelly tribe to the RLL family, secondly it also signified the new beginning and addition to the RLL family. Though the event was a simple one, held after the Youth service at Omega Room 3, it was emotionally charged for everyone attending the event.
Ps Victor and Ps Kelly have both formed a very strong bond with their tribe, however they have to moved on to further seek the Lord for their next journey and also to fulfill the role as son and daughter in-law to Ps Victor’s biological father (to spend more quality time with him in Malaysia). To Ps Victor, this, he said (in a conversation with me while serving HT duty that day) “is to walk the talk”. He said he has always emphasized the importance of spending quality time with our family despite our service to the Lord or in our working live, now is the time for him to really exemplify this by returning back to Malaysia to take care and spend time with his aging father.
For us in the RLL family, we know that we will not be able to replace Ps Victor and Ps Kelly and what they have contributed to their tribe. We also never expect that we will have to take over the tribe per se. However, we know that this is an honour the Lord has bestowed upon us. Not that we are of any superior, but in the fact that the Lord has allow us to serve them and also to serve alongside with them. This has humbled us greatly. It was also humbling to see Yong Howe and Shirley, willingly taking up the tribe as their elder brother and sister, and willingly joining the RLL family.
As Ps Victor and Ps Kelly released Yong Howe and Shirley to Ps Rol and Ps Lai Fun, with Ps Eugene and Ps Julie officiating, the RL24 surrounded them in prayer and embraced them into the family. In a symbolic gesture to show our embrace to the rest of the new members into the RLL family, the RL24 went to everyone in the tribe to give a hug….brother to brother, sister to sister…..to welcome them and embrace them.
Yong Howe/Shirley and all under you, Welcome to the family!!! We will have a great time together and looking forward in serving alongside with you all!!!
Ps Victor and Ps Kelly, you have left behind a legacy. Continue to strive towards in fulfilling the purpose and destiny the Lord has set before you….“ so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” Col 1:9.
December is a wonderful time of the year.  Holidays, Christmas, Year end celebrations to look forward to, in particular, Magic of Love at Christmas (15-17 Dec) and the Countdown Party on the 31 Dec, both right here at the Max Pavilion. Many wonderful opportunities to catch up with old friends and make or discover new ones. Can we pray that God will use us to make a difference to someone’s life for eternity ? And all it takes may be “just a walk across the room” That’s actually the title of Pastor Bill Hybels’ excellent book on personal evangelism. It’s all about discerning and following the Holy Spirit’s promptings.
In the past few weeks, we have had many wonderful encounters with the Holy Spirit. This Most Dynamic Personality on Earth is not just for the ministry of healing of our bodies and to deliver us from evil but to also point and bring the lost to salvation.  Yes, if we stay alert and tuned in to the Holy Spirit, He will supernaturally lead us across the room to maybe someone waiting for a hand of help, blessing or friendship or to point him or her to Jesus.
This is the exciting work of the Holy Spirit. He walked across the “heavenly room” for you and I that first Christmas day….can we not step out of our comfort zone and take that walk across the room for someone else today ?
