Many of you would have heard “Welcome to FCBC, God bless you!” along the walkway leading to Max Pavilion, or “God bless you, see you next week!” at the gates of Hall 9 every week. But for the month of July, not only did you hear all these, you would also have seen familiar faces in the green vests and yellow caps smiling at you!
Yes, it was the RLL tribe on Hospitality Duty this month!
And God is good to us. He gave us 5 weeks to serve Him this time round. Hohoho.
I thank God for the privilege to serve Him in this area, together with the RLL family. Someone once shared this with me:
It doesn’t matter where we are serving the Lord. Be it in the worship team, the choir, the Lord’s Supper team, the hospitality team or even the security, it’s all the same to the Lord. Leading worship is not more superior than the choir, nor the hospitality more inferior than something else. God takes delight in ALL our services.
This has greatly encouraged my heart for the 5 weeks of service in the Hospitality Team.
Today, as we ended our service in the Hospitality Team, Danny shared this with us:
It is not only during the month of Hospitality Duty that we put on a smile and say, “God bless you”. In fact, we are to be hospitable every week. Be it smiling to the one sitting next to you, or shaking the hands of those around you, it is a form of hospitality. And this is worship unto the Lord. Worship is not just singing songs and jumping around. This simple act is also an act of worship.
So, though our duty in the Hospitality Team has ended, let the spirit of hospitality continue on! =)
And before we hear more from our fellow Hospitality Team members, take a look at this warm-up session that Clarence led us in before service!

“We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. ” — 1 Thessalonians 1:3
During the RL 288 Meeting, Ps Rol asked wat is work when he shared on the above verse?
in physics terms,
work = F x d
Then God spoke.
Work = Faith x distance
(where F is Faith and d is the distance from our comfort zone. )The amount of work i.e. how many seeds of blessings we are going to sow in this 100k challenge depends on how big our faith is in God (not just believing in God but to believe God for the people He is going to place along our path) and how far we are willing to move away from our comfort zone to bless others.
then i was thinking, “God you gave me equation for work, what about labor?”
He gave the word “joules”
Definition of joules: The joule is the SI unit of work or energy.
(that means indirectly it meant labor)
labor = power/time
therefore,
Labor = God’s power of love/ time
(where power = God’s love and time = amount of time we are willing to spend)
The amount we are going to labor depends on how much time we are willing to spend, to sacrifice, to go the extra mile to share God’s love with the people, to share His blessings with people)
“ah-ha, now there’s faith, love; there muz be hope coming in.. “
The word “endurance” in the verse caught my attention; followed by “power”, “energy” and “sustain”.
endurance = power
Given that power = Voltage X Current ,
where Voltage refers to the electric potential; and
in simplified terms, to have positive power, you need to have a closed circuit i.e. that is when current is flowing.
Similarly, (where voltage = the maximum potential in completing the race and Current = the hope we have in Christ Jesus to run and complete the race)
How much we can endure (i.e. the power) depends on whom we place our hope in i.e. our Lord Jesus Christ. and its only when we place our hope in Christ will we have the energy to sustain our run and to complete our race.
As we move out for the 100K challenge, let us look beyond our own struggles, beyond our own needs and capacity but to trust God and go in love, act by faith and perservere wif the hope in Christ. To be a mighty warrior of Christ! =)

Stanza 1
“Just like the stars in the night sky
My child you shine so brightly in my eyes
How could you doubt my creation
Everytime you look down on your formation”
“Cos before I gave this earth life
I was thinking of you, your face was on my mind
That precious smile, the twinkle in your eye
Just as I planned, they look so much like mine”
Chorus 1
“Special boy, special girl
Why do you do this to yourself?
Dont you know, how much you make me glad
And im proud to be your dad
Precious boy, precious girl
Can you not see how much youre worth?
Just think, you must have been worth somthing big
Cos i would’nt come and die just for nothing”
Stanza 2
“Do you see the beauty of the sunrise?
Can you feel the coolness of the night?
But the purpose of these I was creating
Was for you, for you in the making”
“Cos long ago, I had a dream of you
You were more beautiful than the stars and the moon
Then you were made fearfully, wonderfully
So as Ive dreamed for you, would you now dream for me?”
Chorus 2
“Special boy, special girl
Wipe those tears of your face
Cos I paid for you with the fullness of my grace
Just so you could feel again the warmth of my embrace
Precious boy, precious girl
Plaeas dont change the way you are
Cant you see? youre so beautiful to me
Cant you see, cant you see”
Bridge
“Child, I love you
I believe in you
Child, do you know how much I care?”
“Child, dont listen to them
Child, I hope you know that ill always be here
You are special in my eyes”
This song is about the worth we have in God and us being special the way were made, and its from His perspective.
